INTRODUCTION TO INTERNET IT is a network of servers and computers, on which data can be exchanged at a very fast rate. The data can be exchanged by people connected to this network from anywhere in the world. This has brought the world much closer and exchange of data ha become much easier due this largest digital network in the world where everyone having a computer is connected and can connect. Data can be either achieved or can be sent to some person or a server.

ADVANTAGES OF INTERNET 1. It can be used to access data for office work or home use. 2. Makes learning of different things much easier and free of cost. 3. Information on almost anything can be found out on the internet. 4. Securing the important and confidential data becomes easier and is safe for sure in 90% of the cases. The data stored on the server is safe and even if it gets deleted, there is a backup to restore it. Adding passwords or Secure Shell link access to the data helps it prevent from being exposed to hackers. In this way national database of different resources and criminal database, national security files can be easily secured on a server which is connected to the internet remotely. 5. Suppose you are travelling and you need to access your home computer for important program, you can just connect to your home computer using Remote Desktop Connection and access the required file or program. The only condition is both the computers need to be online. 6. Personal websites can be hosted from your 'OWN' home computer if you have proper knowledge of hosting a website. 7. Internet is the only tool, with it you can communicate with other people, no matter where they are in the world, or even in space. 8. Online multiplayer games have kind of opened a new gaming business for the gamers. 9. Exchange of new ideas occur everyday through the internet. e.g. The game soldat is developed by a group of people who are continents apart and yet the game community and the game development is going on smoothly. 10. Business transactions easily happen between two companies who are much apart from each other using websites like PayPal, e-gold, etc.

11. Another form of business on the internet is to play the game "Second life", which is almost identical to the real world, except that it must be played using a computer. It won't be correct to say that it is a game because people use it and spend a lot of time on it as if it was real life. Real world business can be advertised on the second life, and people actually may call you in real world to make enquiries about your business. The second life currency can be used in real world by converting it into regional currency. DISADVANTAGES OF INTERNET 1. Theft of Personal information If you use the Internet, you may be facing grave danger as your personal information such as name, address, credit card number etc. can be accessed by other culprits to make your problems worse. 2. Spamming: Spamming refers to sending unwanted e-mails in bulk, which provide no purpose and needlessly obstruct the entire system. Such illegal activities can be very frustrating for you, and so instead of just ignoring it, you should make an effort to try and stop these activities so that using the Internet can become that much safer. 3. Virus threat Virus is nothing but a program which disrupts the normal functioning of your computer systems. Computers attached to internet are more prone to virus attacks and they can end up into crashing your whole hard disk, causing you considerable headache. 4. Pornography: This is perhaps the biggest threat related to your children’s healthy mental life. A very serious issue concerning the Internet. There are thousands of pornographic sites on the Internet that can be easily found and can be a detrimental factor to letting children use the Internet. Though, internet can also create havoc, destruction and its misuse can be very fatal, the advantages of it outweigh its disadvantages.

What if the invention of mobile phones never happened? Well, we wouldn't be able to communicate the way we do now. Mobile phone history started in 1947 when Bell Labs engineers W. Rae Young and Douglas H. Ring realized that utilizing small hexagonal cells can increase the capacity of mobile phones for traffic at a substantial rate. However, at that time, the technology to do that was still nonexistent. Mobile Telephone system A (MTA) was the first mobile phone system that was fully automatic. This was created by Ericsson and was released commercially in Sweden during 1956. Mobile phones during this time weighed 40 kg. Thankfully, mobile phones have evolved into smaller versions since then. The Motorola DynaTAC 8000X was the first handheld mobile phone became available to the U.S. market in 1983. These mobile phones became increasingly popular during the 1980s because of the introduction of "cellular" phones which were based in cellular networks that had several base stations located close to each other. Analogue transmissions were being used by all mobile phone systems. It was Motorola that introduced the first truly portable handheld phone. The introduction of mobile phone systems such as IS-136, iDEN, IS-95, and GSM started during the 1990s. It was in the United States that the first digital cellular phone call was made. In 1991, Radiolinja, the first GSM network opened in Finland. Along with the introduction of 2G (2nd generation) systems were the tiny 100-200g handheld phones which instantly became the norm. This change was made possible by improvements in batteries and electronics. The 2G phone systems were characterized by the introduction of fast and advanced phone to network signaling as well as digital circuit switched transmission. Roughly ten years later, 3G (3rd generation) was launched by NTT DoCoMo in Japan. These mobiles already offer TV and video services, which has made these gadgets even more popular. Quite a number of these phones can also connect to the Internet, which makes them multimedia computers already. It is said that in the future, 4G (4th generation) system will also be introduced. This will pave the way for low cost, high speed data transmission. This will also offer users with a high degree of synchronization and personalization between a wide array of user applications. Advantages:

1. The more you talk, the more you know how to talk and the better your communication skills become. This is applicable if you’re a sensible person and keep note of your interacting habits over the phone. It can be a communication tutorial! 2. Nothing more than a cell phone comes to great help in emergency. You are driving by the freeway and the vehicle jams and cell phone comes to your rescue. You are stuck in a lone place, again call somebody and ask for directions.

3. Parents can be a little less worried about their kids by being in constant touch with them. 4. If you’re a net-savvy, you can have Internet handy all the time and anywhere the signal of your cell phone provider can reach. 5. Trendy and stylish cell phones can be used as a bait to receive attention. It can be part of fashion and styling. 6. From the industry and economy point of view, cell phone companies (communication industry) are flourishing with market capital in billions. This is a good thing for the economy to be smooth and healthy. 7. Companies find it yet another medium to advertise their products; so another medium to reach the consumers. 8. Nowadays, cell phones are not just phone calls; they’re about messaging, vidoe, songs, games, alarm clock, notes, calendar, reminder, etc. So one equipment, lots’ of uses! 9. Although cell phone use can be dangerous while driving but sometimes it can be a time-saver you are driving and simultaneously discussing some urgent matter as well. A sensible and only urgent usage during driving can be a great help at times. DISADVANTAGES OF MOBILE Mobile phones transmit and receive Radio Frequency (RF) signals in order to communicate. The RF signals from mobile phones fall within the microwave part of the electromagnetic spectrum. This radiation is also referred to as microwave radiation or electromagnetic radiation. In short: Mobile phones use microwave radiation to communicate and these are harmful for human being. Conversation on cell phones, both hand-held and hands free was found to influence driving performance. Epidemiological findings consistently showed an increase in crashes associated with use of cell phones. More use of mobiles by young children made following problems in their health:

Depression increased by up to 64-fold. Fatigue increased by up to 37-fold. Appetite Loss increased by up to 25-fold.

The popular belief that adverse health effects can be induced only by the heating effect of [cell phone] radiation is a fallacy

Students in schools and colleges use features such as games, internet facilities during the lectures. Many people have misused the usage on the camera phones such as using it as a hidden camera to take photos which are private. The spreading on computer viruses is also a problem for this new technology. Just like computer viruses, these viruses will affect the normal usage on mobile phones making them to malfunction and causing destructions.
